...in my Nissan Patrol TD42. Last 80,000km, August nag change oil ako. Last night I check my dipstick, the oil just almost touched the tip of the stick. I checked this 2hrs after I killed (guilty!!!) the engine. Then again before going to bed at around 9pm (early to bed, early to...) which is about 8 hrs. GANOON PA RIN. It doesn't emit smoke, ang lakas hatak, no drip/leak. shell rimula x ang gamit ko. ODO reading now is 81,732 or 1,732 since my oil change.
My question is, "saan napunta ang langis?"Last edited by afrasay; September 28th, 2003 at 03:19 PM.

BTW, I added 2 liters this morning. Hope to see serious or even crazy/wacky ideas tomorrow.

I stole it while you were away.
Sometimes an engine just 'eats' oil for no reason. Ganyan yung long term M3 sa Car&Driver.
Baka freak of nature lang.

September 28th, 2003 05:26 PM #4nangyari din sa trooper namin last year, below the last dot sa dipstick...
nang ma-drain, tama naman ang laman..
napa-change oil tuloy ng di-oras.
dipstick measurement was the same, before and after I started the engine, I was away for 2 weeks and nobody started the engine.

That does happen from time to time... try to observe first your engine if it will eat up oil again. If it does, then its time to consider the possibilities where its going.
Happened to our car just last week also... weird. :P

it's the dip stick! parang etits yan, minsan nahihiya kaya umiiksi. so when you measured the oil level kala mo low pero short yung dip stick kasi shy.

Mausok na nga ulit si bubbles eh. tapos naalala ko last oil change ko before registration which was january. hehe.
Ang sagot diyan is oil burns off at the cylinder walls. normal yan for mineral oils, grabe ang burn off kasi uneven ang particle sizes. the smaller particles burn off quickly while large particles remain in the engine.

We have the same problem with our Trooper once. We also used Shell Rimula X in the right amount and after a few days halos minimum na sa dip stick. We had the engine checked and everything is normal. Our culprit is the oil. Palit kami ng Castrol GTD at that time afterwards disappear ang oil consumption. Since then minimal na oil consumption.
