There are products that are specifically designed for MAF sensor... if you maintain your air filter regularly.. no need to clean the MAF sensor as it sits right after the air filter...

Contact cleaner can leave some residue to the sensor..

    i'm a bad car owner.
i haven't cleaned my maf sensor since new, over 120,000 km ago.
    engine still runs without complaint.
but yes, some writers recommend maf cleaner squirts every 6 months or so.
that car guru with john lennon glasses recommends removing the sensor from the car to clean it.

    agree.
the usual electrical contact should leave no residue.
otherwise, it's not an electrical contact cleaner.

I use red and grey bottle CRC for cleaning MAF and TB respectively. And I do it every 3 years.

When should I have the Throttle Body cleaned? Interval how how many kilometers or number of months?
