wheezing sound sa engine

hi all,

would you guys know what's causing the wheezing sound on my engine when i rev it? the more i rev, the louder the wheezing. a friend told me sakit daw yun ng mitsu especially on older cars... is there any truth to this? the odd thing is i only hear this on my 90 galant but not on my 94 spacewagon?

AFAIK, its not naman affecting the cars performance in any way, apart from that annoying sound, the car still runs well.

what could be causing this & what measures do i need to take before it does some real damage to my engine?

please advise
