hey guys, pinakita nung kaopisina ko yesterday yung honda civic nya; may problem daw kasi.

after starting the engine and letting it run idle for a few minutes sa parking lot... we tried pressing on the gas up to 4000rpms then pag release namin nung gas pedal... yung tachometer nag drop (of course) hanggang 200 then may bigla kaming narinig na sound (parang "tok" yung tunog) tapos sumipa yung tachometer pataas ng 900.

nasa tachometer lang kaya yung problem? kasi nangyari na din daw sa kanya while driving naman na totally bumagsak daw sa zero yung tach pero running pa din yung engine. nga pala mas pronounced yung sound while the aircon is running too.

ano kaya 'to? damaged cable lang?

anlabo nga ng problem eh. had a chance to ride the car again yesterday. malabo nga... parang maduming carb na di ko maintindihan kasi parang naghihingalo yung car pag nasa 1st and 2nd gears on low speeds and while idling.

pero kung dirty carb lang... mangyayari ba yung nag-zero yung tachometer pero tumatakbo pa din yung engine?

di ko kasi car eh... tinatanong ko lang baka may naka-encounter na dito ng same problem or may idea kayo.

cheap possibility: dirty idle air control valve (IAC). does the problem get worse when you turn on the A/C, and become less problematic pag walang aircon?

Nung magulo idling ko, pinalinis ko throttle body tapos ok na. Baka yun din problema ninyo.

Basta no matter what, huwag niyong pagalaw yung timing lalo na pag fuel injected. Sasagwa lang yan.

It does get worse with the A/C on. Pag wala aircon... ok lang engine. Thanks a lot for the input. I don't want to get it fixed without having an idea what might be the problem... the tech from a honda branch in south super highway said that I have to replace the whole aircon thing... di ko siya maintindihan... basta he said di na puede fix... replace na and it'll cost at least 45K. After that di ko pa binabalik sa honda ulit... aside from antagal kce nila magsoli ng sasakyan... dami nagsabi saken they're pulling my leg. I'm planning to have a different shop fix it... then balik nalang honda for the next upcoming 5000 checkup and get my booklet stamped. I dunno what that is for but we have been faithfully visiting honda every 5000 miles and they give the booklet a stamp. hahaha
