Top Overhaul or Full Overhaul

...To 'speedyfix', yes I will do the same, at yan ang bentahe... Well, it's actually a rhetoric question though to emphasize something especially to those who wander between a 'top engine job', 'low engine job', or both.

If it is not too much, I intend to elaborate more on the compression and leak down tests, and some reasons why a 'low engine or full engine job is needed or preferable', at least from a co-carowner's point of view.

She might not need to overhaul. Black smoke can be caused by clogged filters or over delivery of fuel. Excessive and constant white smoke is where an overhaul is in order.

Talking from personal experience sa top overhaul:

Pina-dukot ko yung makina ng corolla ko which showed almost the exact same symptoms. Afterwards nawala yung problema for 3 months tapos unti-unti bumabalik yung symptoms ulit.

Suggestion ko is kung ibebenta na yung car ng utol mo pa-dukot mo na lang kasi di mo talaga mababawi yung gastos ng overhaul sa mazda, but if gagamitin pa siya for more than 6 months, pa overhaul mo na lang para bawas ang sakit sa ulo.

i'll update this thread.
talked to my sister earlier, she mentioned to me na tune-up and timing lang daw ginawa and the symptoms that i've talked about earlier here were all gone.

pwede pala ng ganun lang? hehehehehe.

anyway, i'll update this thread kung ano pa ang lumabas sa oto nya later.

yup. lalo na kung nag slip ang timing belt. kapag pinagtagal iyan, madadamay na ang ibang parte ng makina at kailangan na ng overhaul

it's good that everything went away na because of that. just continue to monitor how the car is running and if anything else creeps up have it checked agad.

timing lang and tune-up ang ginawa + palit ng spark plugs.

Congrats. Dapat lang, di pa naman hukluban ang car, unless barubal masyado ang driver. Kung minsan mas lalo lang disgrasya pag pinabinuksan ang makina.

YUng black smoke maitim lang yan pero mas perwisyo ang puti at asul na usok.

mga boss, hope you could help me with this...i had a problem with my car on transmission leaks at mejo mababa idling (namamatay ang makina if nag-brake/stop or may aircon).i went on a repair shop (di ko na sabihin kung saan) to fix the leaks on transmission (auto transmission - lancer 1994 model). i must admit na talagang konting konti lang alam ko about cars..they told me that they would do top overhaul din dahil may leak daw yung engine..so pina-go ko po..ang perception ko kasi pag ginawa ung overhaul, maayos yung engine problem ko tapos i-cover na daw lahat ng repair sa leaks (replace oil seals, timing belt, and the likes)..nakailang balik din ko sa shop dahil di pa din nawala leak sa transmission..naayos naman nila eventually yung leaks (to verify naglatag pa po ko ng sapin sa ilalim ng kotse hehe).kaso yung idling/engine problem (namamatayan) andun pa din..sa kamalasan nabangga din ko so pinaayos ko po yung hood and etc (ilang months after magpaayos ng leaks).then sabi sa akin nung tumingin parang patay daw isang valve ng makina..ang tanong ko lang po ngaun is kung pwede pa po kaya maresolve yung problema ko sa engine/idling?any suggestion po na shop for this one? (yung mejo makamura sana hehe..) mejo malapit din po sana sa workplace (makati) or sa bahay (mandaluyong). plano ko po pa-estimate muna sana. sayang nga e kung nalaman ko lang dati pa itong tsikot.com e di sana nabawasan gastos ko..hehe..mga boss, hoping you could reply to this po.maraming salamat po in advance..
