peepz i'm kinda new here. just wanna ask some tips on engine change. i drive a toyota corolla 1.6 gli 1994 model which my parents gave me. medyo luma na pero ayaw ko ibenta ang auto ko kasi parang attached ako sa car ko. dalawang beses na itong na overhaul ang makina dahil sa kapabayaan ko at gusto ko nang palitan ang makina.
will the altis kahit 1.6j be ok as replacement? wat other advice can u give me. tnx
First and foremost, if you're looking for a engine change, it won't solve your problem (which lead to overhauls) if you dont maintain it well. Thus, try to start clean with the new engine and maintain her religously.
With the Corolla, a 4AGE or 4AGZE is the usual swap that is taken. AFAIK, it's pretty much straightforward but before you put it in, make sure you have all the needed parts and then also change and check some things like the water pump, belts, bearings, compression, gaskets, etc... so as to minimize repairs in the future (and these can be done while the engine is down).
Take your time to canvass on the engines, an installer, parts, etc...
Make sure you get a mechanic who knows what he's doing. Usually when you get an engine kahit na sabihin pang "sariwa", pabuksan mo na since nakababa naman.
