dunno how to describe it any better...while cruising along SLEX a around 60 -70kph, it felt like the engine stalled for split second, and para kang nag free wheel for a split second. it's kinda like the feeling you get when you let go of the gas pedal suddenly(but i didn't). hindi naman siya consistent, although 3 times siya nangyari sa kin over the weekend.

it's a very old ae92 with a 2e engine, and these days it's only being used about 2-3x a week. malamig lang kaya ung engine kaya nagkaganyan? it didn't used to do that though. the only thing i replaced in recent memory is the spark plug wires and the spark plugs

problem with the fuel system kaya? o sa carb?

I know of 4 possibilities sir badkuk:

    1.) Defective Hi-tension wire
    2.) Defective Spark plug
    3.) Barado Fuel Pump
    4.) Dumi Carb

hmm...the sparkplugs i used were purchased 1yr+ ago. ok lang ba gamitin uli? i noticed that one of them developed some rust near the HT wire connection. nanghihinayang kasi ako, original pa naman mga yun...

funny thing is, mas malala siya when the engine is cold. after driving for a little while nawawala naman siya.

well, i replaced all of the sparkplugs(went with NGK platinums this time), and reused one of the old HT wires -- there's this crackling noise near one of the sparkplugs(bad connection between sparkplug and HT wire perhaps?) -- ganun pa rin, pero parang tumino ng konti

buo pa naman ung contact point.

ung carb kasi kakalinis ko lang 2-3 months ago.

at idle, parang sinisinok ung engine; i.e. you can definitely detect "gaps" in the engine hum, parang sinisinok, although not as evident

GOT same prob here.. I suspect its a dirty intake manifold or leaking gasket... Faulty jets.. Need CARB overhauling... Check na din Fuel Filter.. 250 pesos for carb overhaul..

finally had it checked out by a kapitbahay's mekaniko. tune up lang daw ang kelangan. he made some adjustments to the distributor/ignition, cleaned the contact points/rotor, ok na -- for a time.

but after the test drive bumigay din ung contact point. luckily i still had a spare orig at home. seems to have run perfectly after it was replaced. advise din niya to replace the condenser soon.

not really sure what caused the contact point to break down though; i've driven a lot farther prior to today, hindi naman bumigay. kung sabagay, i don't really rev the engine that hard; siguro nagbreak down na siya with the higher than usual revving/current going through it

medyo kinabahan ako while he was troubleshooting and revving the engine hard; me naririning akong loud pops coming from the engine. sagot lang niya, sa timing lang daw ang problema

um, anybody wanna buy some slightly used sparkplugs? B)
