with engine cold, open the oil filler cap and start the engine. cover the oil filler hole with your palm. there should be very little pressure, if any. if there is pressure then that is a sure sign of blow-by. also if you can see an oil mist being blown out of the oil filler hole then that is also another sure sign of blow-by. of course to confirm you'll need to do a compression test.

maki ride ts: yung dip stick tube ko may tumitilamsik na langis, umaagos na nga sa sides. pero sa oil filler hole minimal (maybe caused by the vibration of my diesel engine?) at hiniihigop pa yung palm ko? ano kaya ito? and nagtataka ako since nagpa-change oil ako hindi nababawasan yung langis, parang nadaragdagan pa nga? fuel efficient pa naman at yung hatak minsan ok minsan hirap.
dinala ko na ito sa reputable shops na mentioned dito sa tsikot. hati yung assessment, ok to normal pa daw, nag-mention pa ng mga rides na dinadala rin sa kanila na same case ko. yung ibang shop sabi blow-by na? confusing... inputs baman mga kapatid! salamat ng marami!
