April 11th, 2011 06:24 PM #1Sir, tanong ko lang kung ano normal rpm ng 1.6 engine pag naka-idle speed(nakahinto). Before, I have a 2.4 engine for cefiro. Idle speed niya is 1,000. Then I have also a 1.3 engine for Vios. Idle speed niya is 800-900. What about a corolla GLi 94? Please advice

700-800 rpm would be the normal idle speed in almost all vehicles, pero yung namention mo na 1000rpm at idle, that's a little too high and would consume more gas.

April 19th, 2011 01:01 AM #4I'm not really too familiar with the idling tricks of the 4AFE but some common tweaks I used to do on my previous EFI engine was on the ignition timing and Throttle cable tension.
Safest is too tweak on the throttle cable tension (??? not so sure of the correct term) but be careful cause it may mess up your accelerator pedal sensitivity.
If you adjust on the ignition, it may make or break your engine power (tendency to lose power and consume more gas).
IMHO, 1000 rpm is just right although the majority clocks on 800 without aircon.

April 19th, 2011 05:27 AM #5then up po ng around 200 pag may aircon na, tama po ba? ang nangyayari once i turn the A/C on, bababa sya sa mga 500 for 1 second, then magsshoot na sa 1000 pag may aircon. pero pag wala, around 800 po ako.
kung halimbawa ibaba ko kaya ng 600 pag walang aircon, okay lang kaya? wala po bang ibang affected? para pag nag-aircon ako, mga around 800 lang idle ko.. what do you think sir? pwede ba yun?

April 19th, 2011 06:01 AM #6Idling an EFI engine without aircon on 800 rpm is the usual standard, which in your case is good.
No need to touch anything on your idling settings, sir.
Idle-up system for additional load (ie aircon) for EFI is usually ECU-controlled.
ang nangyayari once i turn the A/C on, bababa sya sa mga 500 for 1 second, then magsshoot na sa 1000 pag may aircon. pero pag wala, around 800 po ako.
Pero if you don't lose power all the while the aircon is on, we can say this is most likely still normal.Last edited by isa1023; April 19th, 2011 at 06:04 AM.

April 20th, 2011 10:37 AM #7actually, di po ako EFI, carb po ako. corolla 92 XE po gamit ko. so pano po pag may additional load, like A/C, can I have it stay at 800 kahit may AC or talagang may additional RPM ?

April 21st, 2011 01:29 AM #8Mas madali mag-adjust ng idling sa carb.
Pareho pala tayo naka-Aisan.
just seen a 10th gen cross 200,000 miles on reddit. is this a unicorn or has the cvt been proven...
