I'm not really too familiar with the idling tricks of the 4AFE but some common tweaks I used to do on my previous EFI engine was on the ignition timing and Throttle cable tension.

Safest is too tweak on the throttle cable tension (??? not so sure of the correct term) but be careful cause it may mess up your accelerator pedal sensitivity.

If you adjust on the ignition, it may make or break your engine power (tendency to lose power and consume more gas).

IMHO, 1000 rpm is just right although the majority clocks on 800 without aircon.
