sending you a pm now bro![]()
sir migs, i was browsing RP's website and came across this:
What gives? Can I put Royal Purple into my brand new car?
Yes. Royal Purple currently offers many viscosity grades of API-licensed motor oils. To allow for proper break-in of the engine, Royal Purple recommends waiting until the manufacturer’s first scheduled oil change or a minimum of 2,000 miles in new gasoline engines. Allow 8,000 to 10,000 miles before using Royal Purple in diesel engines.
synthetic oil, by its very nature, will reduce wear on moving parts. on new engines, you want everything to wear evenly since you're breaking it in. it's ok to use synthetic oil but what will happen is that breakin will take longer.
the duration of the breakin differs, here pwede shorter since most of the time cars are in traffic. 1000kms for gas engines and maybe 4-5000 kms for diesel.
however, with the better tolerances and clearances of engines straight from the factory, synthetic oil is becomming more and more common as the factory fill (benz, porsche, bmw, etc) kaya this will not hold true for much longer.
hope that explains it![]()
what about the engine seals? some older engines (pre-1995) experience leakages due to additives and newer oils. will this oil be friendly to older engines? or will it need a resealing/change of gaskets?
actually all seals will leak sooner or later. if it's time for yours to leak no matter what oil you use, tutulo at tutulo parin yan. when they leak, replace them and it should be ok na.
Gud day mga gurus! I have just acquired a Civic VTi '97 and gusto ko sana pa-change oil na as well as A/T fluid. My dilemma is hindi ko alam kung mineral or semi syn or fully syn ba ung current oil nya. Now would it be safe to switch to semi syn in case mineral oil ung gamit nya ngaun? Based on my research kasi eh switching to full syn agad can cause leaks since mas mataas ang detergency nya and lilinisin nya talaga ang engine including those deposits na parang naging seal na sa mga leaks. Thanks in advance for your inputs on this mga sirs!![]()
you can switch straight to synthetic if you want. going to semi-syn muna is unecessary since good oil will have rubber conditioners built in to treat old oil seals. kung hindi na makuha sa treatment ng seals and they leak then just replace them so wala ka na iisipin.
Thanks for the input sir speedyfix! I've heard of great things sa shop nyo and that's why I'm planing to drop by your shop and have your guys change the liquids on my car. Thanks again.
speedfix, ask ko lang kung ok yung "Vulcan" galing UAE, ano klase oil toh? eto kc pinalagay ng dad ko. pansin ko kc parang gumaspang takbo ko, balak ko mag change pag dating ko ng 3k km. try ko RP. by the way sportivo 05 auto ko. ty
share ko lang po...
nakakita ko ng RP sa may 8th ave caloocan. forgot the name of the shop...P2300 din benta nila...juz wondering kung orig ito? gud day
i have no idea what type of oil that is. never heard. try googling it. if wala ka mahanap then that should be indication enough.
there are other RP dealers naman aside from us so you shouldn't be worried.
naku, i'm not too sure if we have any near your area. sa banawe area lang meron na alam ko.
