then a friend sold me his used HKS Hiper (pinaka gusto ko -- iba talaga pag imported hehe )

    HKS Hiper:

that was when i had a 4G63 turbo engine (i destroyed the engine hehe)

ngayon sawa nako sa pag palit palit ng mufflers

the performance difference between brands is negligible

after all, it's just a muffler

what mods have you done to your engine?

I am using custom made/designed mufflers. My design. Fabricated at FREMUFF.

    1. sound - good. relatively quiet at low rpm. Low restriction for good flow at mid to high rpms. Good sound without high pitched tones.

    2. Performance - low restriction, internal diagonal gas flow.

    3. shape - stock looking.

    4. material - stainless steel for long life.

most car makers are now using stainless steel mufflers which can outlasts your car. and they are tuned well to the engine. I would not change them unless they are busted.

have tried zebring and 5zigen before. isa lang ang pinagkaiba...ang tunog lang... tama yung sinabi nung isang poster dito, its just a muffler. it will not do anything radical unless you have engine mods..

changing it to aftermarket 'brands' are mostly for aesthetics and roar, rather than performance.

an aftermarket muffler is more an aesthetic mod if your car's engine is stock

but if you did mods to your car's engine which makes it take in more air and burn more fuel, and naturally, produces more exhaust (like turbocharging), then replacing the stock exhaust piping and muffler is more a requirement than aesthetics

if it happens to look good, then it's just a plus

Regarding brand of muffler.
