Got some question that need expert advise or anybody that already experience this type of scenarios:
1. How whould you know if your alternator is about to give up?
2. medyo humuhina yung ilaw sa gauge pag tinapakan yung brake
3. pag on ko ng aircon ko, RPM goes up to 1200 RPM (Normal) then go down to 900 (Normal padin) but nanginginig yung dashboard
4. pag dumadaan ako sa mga lubak, napapansin ko RPM ko bumababa to 600 RPM, pero pag rev ko siya bumabalik sa 900 ulit..nangyayari lang to pag dumaan ako sa lumak..
Oto ko pala ay Corolla 4AGE Silvertop

sagot ako dito:
1. alternator itself di madali masira, kalimitan yung regulator lang nasisira. most modern alternator have IC regulators built in to them but eto share ko: if you tap a VOM (volt-OHM meter)--importante meron kang ganito, kahit papaano mamomonitor mo. but having a analog/digital volt meter and ammeter will help also..
dapat kung di buhay makina, dapat reading nyan is atleast 11.5V to start the engine. tapos pag tumakbo na yung makina dapat magmaintain yan from 12.1-14.5V, other wise, may problem na regulator mo. dapat * full load(all electricals ar up/on, dapat 12.1 yan para di madiscarga baterya mo. if bumaba sa 12V, while the engine is running and * full load, may alternator problem ka na..either kailangan palitan ng windings yun kasi sunog na masyado ang windings...
kung lumalagpas ng 14.5V * no load, then regulator mo problem..pagawa mo yan, delicado yan kasi susunugin nyan linya mo, papakuluin ang batterya mo kasi sa lakas ng kuryenteng pumapasok sa baterya (over current). 2 solusyon yun, kung dadalhin mo sa alternator shop, pwede papalitan mo yung IC nu and/diodes nun kasi sira na..
but if ok ang karga ng alternator, at nadidischarge parin ang battery, baka baterya mo na ang problema..punta ka sa battery shop may pantest sila dun..
and if EFI/CRDi makina mo, as much as possible iwasan mo mag-jumpstart kasi baka masira ECU,e.. although di madali masira yun, but better safe than sorry ha..
2. check your electrical charging system. lights are good indicator ng charging efficiency ng sasakyan mo, unless LED gamit mo..LED di madali nagbabago ang brightness..
3.baka may maluwag lang... since pinalitan to 4age yan, most likely may nilagay sa ilalim ng dash..
4. baka may maluwag lang.. check mo yung actuator baka may konting sagabal lalo na pag na-vivibrate..

madaming salamat sa mga tips mo (alwayz_yummy), plano ko nadin papalitan yung bearing and carbor brush para sigurado wala akong magiging problem sa alternator, since surplus eto..
plano kodin papalagay ng grounding kit sa speedyfix para sigurado ayos yung daloy na kuryente...
kasi yung lumang wires ng ground ko padin ginamit nila pag kabit...medyo sabog nadin yung mga wires niya eh..
para sa ibang gusto mag share ng kanilang idea's feel free to post here po..

medyo normal pa yan humihina yung ilaw. but if you think it's too dim, despite good condition battery and alternator.
then it looks like you need to improve your groundings. do a DIY to save cost.

I will start with tightness of belt, condition of battery and carbon brush of alternator.

March 24th, 2008 01:10 PM #8EFI yung engine. Baka may nahugot na tube papuntang MAP sensor o yung Idle Air control Valve baka sobra na dumi, pwede rin Spark Plugs or HT tension wire yung problema. O baka naman barado na Fuel injectors mo.
