mga sir ask ko lang po ba sa isuzu sportivo (diesel) itong engine oil na "shell helix plus 10w40"? yung color blue po ang bottle? thanks

i think shell helix plus 10w -40 is for gasoline only. meron naman oil ang shell na pang diesel which has different viscosity. you have to follow the viscosity of oil recommended for your sportivo, nasa manual naman yan eh. di lang ako familiar sa diesel oil nila. just ask sa shell station dun sa service bay nila.

Ynung Helix blue 10W-40 ay pang gasoline mostly ang application. I have tried it before on my 4d56, ok sa na, pero after a few thousand kms, hindi na ko satisfied. Parang mabilis lumabnaw at iba na andar ng diesel. And I think mababa ang API rating nito pag sa diesel compared to other oils that are intended for diesel application.
Kung talagang Shell ang gusto mo, there are several good diesel engine oils from Shell. Rimula X, yung Black container yung pinaka ok na na try ko. API CH-4 na rin yun. Sa Helix line up, I think meron din silang pang diesel na application, although I haven't tried using it.

if I'm not mistaken, Isuzu Sportivo, Trooper Di's uses 5w,10w-30,40

the easy to find oils I know for diesel is Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 and Whiz 10w-40.

unfortunately, the only available shell for multigrade diesel here is the Helix Plus 15w-40 and Rimula-X 15w-40.

if you read the website, Rimula-X is heavy duty for trucks. while Helix Plus is for SUV, AUV and with no "heavy-duty" label.
