I saw on the news, some taxi drivers on middle east use veggie oil because they didn't have access to fuel.

meron ako nakita sa news na pinoy inventor na gumawa na pwedeng gamitin yung mga used cooking oil from big fast food chains as fuel for diesel fed engines... may conversion lang na gagawin which will cost around 40k... wala pa ako alam na detalye pero mukhang ok...

afaik, the first diesel engine invented was using vegetable oil or corn oil as fuel

It's not fresh news. Many people have been doing it for years already. Maybe he's the first to do it in the Philippines but as far as I know, and I've read quite a bit on diesel fuel alternatives (SVO/WVO/biodiesel/used motor oil/etc), there have been many before him who have gone veggie.

The first diesel engine by Rudolf Diesel, used peanut oil.

So far as I know... not yet... don't know if the filtration can give it enough purity to run on the high pressure injectors.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

peanut oil used as fuel sa diesel engine.. ano kaya amoy ng exhaust nun?? hehe samahan mo pa ng garlic o bawang ayos!!! mag aamoy adobong mani along edsa hahaha.. sabi nga nila yung biodiesel (coconut based) amoy niyog ang exhaust

sana eto ma develop natin mga pinoy.. biodiesel na mura talaga....

sa totoo lang mahal po ang Vegetable oil... nasa 80 pesos yata yung mantika na pamprito eh...

what purity would it need?... 5 micron level?... 1 micron level?

P80 a liter na ba ang mantika ngayon?

Iba ang amoy ng veggie oil, sa biodiesel, sa used motor oil pag ginamit ng diesel engine as fuel. Don't even start on used motor oil unless sobrang laspag ang sasakyan mo.

There is a developing company in the biofuels industry. I can't say more on that

For this application (waste veggie oil on advanced diesel engines such as CRDi TDi and the like) I would simply go with, at most, 20% WVO and 80% regular diesel. Then purify it as good as you can. That way any particulates would be diluted well enough for use in your car.
