I don't use synth. It will always be a debate here. But with the way I use my vehicle (it's just a daily driver), the cost of synths will not be worth the benefits.
My advice is to stick to the fluid requirement stated in your owner's manual. Choose the right viscosity, the right service rating. I guess its up to you if you choose to be mineral based or synth based as long as the specs are correct to your car.

If the manual does not specifically require synthetic oil, I just use mineral based oil. Just like OTEP, I don't think the cost of synthetic oils is worth the benefit it gives.
