March 22nd, 2008 03:29 PM #1mga sir ask ko lang ano magandang oil para sa toyota 5k engine. dati castrol na 20w50 gamit namin pero mabilis syang umitim,normal ba yun? yung altis kasi namin 10k na since last change oil parang bagong change oil pa kulay.
tulongm naman. and ano rin yungm meaning ng 20w50, 10w40 yata sa mga oil products. and which is better for my engine mineral oil, semi-syn or fully syn tnx

20w is too heavy. more tear yan sa engine startup.
eto yung advised oil grade for 5K
natural lang dark na yung 5K, kasi old na eh...

oil viscosity yan bro.
SAE number 0, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60. The higher the viscosity, the higher the SAE grade number is. These numbers are often referred to as the weight of a motor oil.

you may want to replace your air filter element to a better one.
dark oil could be caused by the engine sucking in too much dirt from the air. or a hidden sludge problem. you can try flushing muna, too.
castrol's 20w 50 is fine. with the 5k's design, it could take any oil and be happy. kahit straight 40 pa. just be sure to change it often. 20w50 not very fuel efficient though. malapot kasi yun. yung petron rallye pwede, its 10w40.
