    I'd like to get more hands on with my car and intend to get one of these soon.

    Any recommendations on what's available in the Philippines? Or online alternatives that may be a better deal?

    I've heard that there are newer ones out that can even transmit data via bluetooth to your android/iphone and can give you real-time telemetry but haven't seen one in the flesh. I also don't know whether I should get one of these or get the ones that you can connect to a laptop instead.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Verbl Kint!

    I suggest you try to source out one that is able to access almost all the control units in your car. In my case i bought VCDS by Ross-Tech for my Audi A4 since it connects, checks and able to erase all faults to all control units in my car but can not perform re-mapping on my engine control unit.

    You could try Ross-Tech.com website for Euro car makers...
