Very good fc you got there.

Question, how do we actually adjust air-fuel ratio in non-efi engines?

Adding LPG adds fuel, It also burns the 25% of wasted diesel your vehicle cannot burn on it's own. It also increases injection timing. Think of it like a chip in bottle.

Im planning to use a 2.7 kg superkalan lpg tank for this mod. The tank is fairly small, can i put it inside the engine bay or would it be safer inside the vehicle?

No you cannot put it in the engine bay. It has to go in the back of the vehicle. This is not a mod for those who are not mechanically inclined. If you need it done the right way as a kit you can give me a buzz. I have extra parts to make like 3 systems for a turbo diesel. You would have to find your own regulator I think I only have one of them.

A surplus Acetylene Regulator with POL fitting is the perfect thing for this mod. You just need to replace the low side gauge with a 0 to 30 psi gauge.

I can do these in boost activated or digital progressive systems which inject based on how much boost your making using one of our controllers, Or you can find a pressure switch at a shop that is either adjustable or at least 5psi.

LPG will kick you in the butt every time it comes on. It's very effective.

Will there be an increase in temperature with the logo mods?

hi dvldoc, we have some taxi's running on LPG in PI especially in metro manila area, have you seen any of them? im not sure but i think they have a modified engines that runs on LPG alone and not on gas-lpg combo. their trunks is where they have the tanks, and sometimes or most of the times the smell of the gas come inside the cabin...

btw, is installing an LPG mod will also increase your exhaust gas temp (EGT)? can you install and LPG mod without Water-Alcohol Injection? TIA

You will only get a slight EGT temp rise around 10C, basically insignificant if your doing it properly. This is also not for for gas engines it's for diesels.

You don't need water injection to run LPG fumigation. The best way i can describe LPG fumigation is a Chip in a bottle, it increases injection timing while adding fuel. It due to it's low cetane number allows you to burn a up to 98% of your diesel. Adding water injection will just let you make more power and turn up the LPG. But really with 3psi you will be very happy on a 4cly turbo diesel.

Anyone interested in a system can PM me, I can do a few this trip. Just like the water injection your guaranteed results. A progressive system is really the best way to go but you do a normal boost activated set up. Currently mine is just boost activated but will be switching to progressive.

Another example of a LPG set up, I have a similar regulator on my unit there. Except I run the solenoid valve up front not at the tank.

Here's a little video I did back in 2011. Toggling the LPG on and off. It's set to activate at 6psi of boost. You can see the difference when it's not on versus on when it hits 6psi. It ramps up way quicker and I get free boost. It kicks in at about 100kph and the van will go up on it's one to 125kph or so if you don't back off the throttle.

hi dvldoc, thanks for your reply.

another question, when you install a WAI and LPG mod, do you need also to modify your exhaust system? have you done any modification to your Elgrand's exhaust system? TIA

Mods to a diesel engine? : )
