Do not go 20w50. Due to a misunderstanding yan ang viscosity na gamit ko ngayon. Gulf mineral oil ang brand. I am getting the same performance naman, but ang ingay ng makina ko. Same fc, same response, pero ang ingay talaga. Altis 1.6G.

For sedan and suv just stick to 5w30 at 10w30.

i thought they used heavier oil on old, tired engines, to hide their "deficiencies", just prior to selling.

Also, with group 1, 2 and 3 oils the bigger the difference between cold and hot numbers, the higher the amount of viscosity improvers. These VI give out eventually and when they do, the oil will behave more like a monograde oil with the hot number viscosity at startup. That's one reason why mineral/semi syn oils should be changed more frequently.
Can I use 10w30 in a hot climate such as here in the philippines ??? I don't want to use mobil semi-synth 10w40 or fully synth 5w30 mainly because my engine is an old Corolla GLi 4afe 1.6 .. I found out that the only 10w30 mineral oil available is Honda engine oil ..

Is honda oil compatible with Toyota cars ????

Xw30 to Xw40 are fine. Kung heavy traffic or high rpm situation go for 40 nalang.

For newer car like innova and fortuner its run smooth sa 10w30 or 5w30.

For isuzu engine lalo na mux, crosswind, dmax dapat gamit jan 10w30 or 5w30

Chevy trailblazer ito ang maarte. CI4 or Dexos 2 5w30 or 10w30. Never use any xw40.

at matakot na kayo pag 20w50 gagamitin nyo unless gusto nyo kumarera feeling schumy.

As long as the manual indicate what type of oil can be used okay yan. Wag ka na magmagaling.
