mga bossing,tanong lng po, ok lng ba gamitin ang ganitong oil viscosity sa oto ko kasi parang karaniwan ng oil na nakikita ko at nababasa e 5w40,15w40,10w40. ano kaya epekto ng ginagamit ko na oil ngaun sa oto ko(5w50). sa ngaun wala pa kakaiba na nararamdaman worried lng ako baka sa bandang huli maging dahilan pa ito ng problema ko sa makina...TIA.

Ano ang kotse nyo? The lower the first number sa oil rating mas malabnaw ito (ex. 20W-50 ay mas malapot kesa 10W-40). Mas nakakaikot ang oil sa makina kaagad specially pag cold start sa umaga. Disadvantage lang ay pag medyo luma na mga gasket sa makina, pwede lumusot at mag leak ang malabnaw na langis.

toyota rav 4 98 model. dati ordinary oil gamit ko then shift to fully synthetic kaso ung mobil oil na nabili ko 5w50 viscosity ala daw kasi sila 5w40. Ano disadvantage using 5w50 sa 5w40??

Mas mahal. Need mo 10w40 or 15w40 pwede na. But if you can afford it, why not?

Bro multigrade naman yan..Ok lang gamitin 5w-50 especially ngayon na napakainit.You need your oil to thick during hot summertime because oil becomes thin when hot.Pero advise lang to change oil after 3 months or 5000Km pagdating nang rainy season because 5w-50 may be too thick when that time arrives,better revert back to 5w-40 synthetic or 10W-40 semisynthetic.

Depende sa kotse, yung ibang Toyota engines (ex. 3ZZ-FE ng Altis) ay very prone sa sludging or yung pamumuo ng oil sa makina kung masyado matagal ang interval ng oil change. Mineral oil man or synthetic, may chance na mag sludge pag pinilit na 10K ang palit.

Just to be safe change your oil and oil filter every 5K or every 6 months whichever comes first.

I don't follow 10Km change oil interval kahit fully synthetic.Sabi ng mechanic ko,kung fully synthetic,at least 8Km to be on the safe side .Pero in your case,masyado thick 5w-50.Ok lang ito pag summer months.Pero pag dating ng july malamig na konti bka mahirapan makina sa 50 SAEgrade.To be safe cguro,palit ka na sa 10w-40 or 5w-40 or whatever grade your car manual recommends pagdating rainy season.
