Just because oils have the same viscosity number i.e. 5W30 or 5W40, doesn't mean they are interchangeable.

In other words, just follow what's in your manual. Most likely C3 if it's a Sportage diesel.

Btw, already tried the Xteer Diesel Ultra C3 5W30. Cheap for a 6L bottle. No issues, will probably get again if it's the cheapest on my next oil change.
Ok. thanks! I've read from a diesel expert that the recommended viscosity daw is 15w40 but when i checked my manual, recommended is 5w30. I guess ill stick with 5w40 as long as it's ACEA C3.

He’s the expert but isn’t the 15w the winter weight?

Anyway, I use 5w40 mostly as I find 5w30 too thin, for my peace of mindMineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?. But the casa used to use 5w30 CI-4 oil.

Question: Is an ACEA C3 rated oil not compatible with a car that does not have a DPF?
Not too sure how the low SAPS affects the engine that doesn’t have a dpf. C3 oils are a bit more expensive, though. I just follow what they recommend in the manual. Zic X7 has superb oils, 10w40 that I frequently use for my non-dpf Accent & is fairly affordable. Its ACEA a3b3 a3b4.

That was the oil sponsor of the old Ferrari F1.

What is the ACEA & API rating for your Strada, if I may ask?

Obsolete na CD. I know you can use the latest API because they supercede the previous ones.
