Apparently, recom in the manual is different from what they actually do in the casa here & we all know sakit na ng casa yan. When I asked the Advisor in my casa why they arn’t using the right oil? Sagot sakin “basta po pang diesel”. Using the specific oil will actually extend the drain interval, you know.
it seems to be that the retail toyota diesel bottles are cf-4 ? hopefully thats the same thing they put in the cans they use for PMS

Diba obsolete na CF-4? Alam ko latest is CJ-4. Kaya mas gusto ko ACEA grading.

Current diesel API ratings are CK-4 and FA-4.

Found an updated packaging for that same bottle with a still current CH4 rating form toyota san jose's website although yun synthethic is still CF/SN in that regard mas okay ung kay mitsubishi CJ-4 for synthetic and CI-4 for mineral still older than the current CK4 standard though.

It tool me some time to find a VW-rated diesel oil for our Jetta TDI. Nanigurado lang ako nakasulat yung VW/Audi 504.00, 507.00. Pero same lang eto na ACEA C3, GM dexos2.

I used Amsoil European Car Formula 5w30. Medyo mahal din at 700+ per quart. Much affordable than the 1k rate the VW casa is charging us.

Have you checked the range of oils of Cyclon? They have a lot of oils there which are VW, BMW, Merc rated. This oil is made in Greece but is Euro Standard. And its a lot cheaper. The Cyclon Magma Syn TDI costs P1,730/4lit jug. I’m sure there is an oil there for your Jetta.

It is really comforting to know that some Casas are behaving the way we expect them to be.
In the owner’s manual of my cars, there is no indication of the API grade. They only specify the recom SAE viscosity and ACEA grade.

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
