March 17th, 2018 02:11 PM #5351They are correct. If one reads owners manuals of our rigs, it quite clear that temperature dictates what viscosity to use. If we were in a cold country then 20-30 oils would be good. But in the Philippines it would be wise to use 40 or 50.

March 17th, 2018 03:23 PM #5356What I do with my rigs still under warranty I instruct the casa to use the correct weight oil. On my LC 200 - 5w40 Motul CRDi oil. Intially they used 30 weight oil, unfortunately even before the next PMS, dipstick reflects some oil loss.

March 17th, 2018 03:33 PM #5357Toyota casa is easier to deal with on this. I got a Jetta recently and VW insists on using a 20 or 30 weight oil. Had to top up about half a liter months before it's next PMS. They'll eventually turn around.

March 17th, 2018 05:07 PM #5360I use 10w40. Seems like it's a median for all [emoji16]

Before I sold my 2005 Innova after 12 years of heavily using it, I never changed its water pump.
