January 13th, 2021 11:28 AM #6295hah!
many years ago,
when i replaced the oil of my then-recently-purchased car, using the recommended oil grade,
the oil pressure light started flickering.
it would appear, the engine was so worn, it could not keep proper oil pressure anymore.
ex-taxi!
it would seem, all the signs were there. but me-in-my-in-experience...
heh heh.

It is hard to describe to give you a satisfactory answer but, it didn’t feel right & up to my expectations. Maybe there are other factors at play but, that was the only thing changed with the car to make me suspicious. It’s also been proven that not all oils are created equal. Anyway, to each his own.

January 13th, 2021 03:17 PM #6299Question mga gurus re: diesel engine oil. API CI-4 mineral engine oil vs API CF-4 semi-synthetic engine oil.
