Kinda hard to give a answer since you gave no specifics on the engine or vehicle make and model.
For a 4m41 3.2liter tdi mitsubishi, a3.0liter d4d engine of a fortuner....
JS Filters :: Product Catalogue is where you can check to get the Baldwin equivalent. The D4D does not have a Fleetguard or Baldwin match.
Normally, there is a float thingie in the filter which will activate the fuel filter light in the event a certain level of water has already accumulated. All one had to do is open the valve thingie at the bottom to drain the water and re-prime the pump.
There are pre-filters like the ones sold by Berrima that have a glass bottom so you can see dirt and water should they be present.
Hope this helps.
Pag may pump primer yung fuel filter head may FS yun. Pero may nakita na rin akong mga engines na fuel filter at hindi fuel separator ang nakalagay sa head na may primer, nagtipid siguro.
it's either a 2-in-1 assembly or separated.
2-in-1 = filter and water sedimentor in 1 canister equipped with a priming pump at the top and drain valve at the bottom.
for "split-type", water separator is the one equipped with the priming pump and drain valve. filter is a screw-on.
