maybe just the auto-choke feature... to warm up the engine.....

if it keeps on changing after normal use..... maybe the servo.....

btw, i am a former owner of lancer glxi

for EFI cars, high idling at start up should be normal, it should be at least around 1200 RPM at start-up, meaning engine has not reached it's ideal temperature and just like you said, after a few seconds idling should drop to normal level.

What you should be worried about is when the idling constantly fluctuates from high to low whenever your A/C is on and everytime the A/C compressor kicks in.

as for the shift lever, if you have the Itlog GLXi, there should be a plastic bushing at the bottom of your shift lever, baka worn out na, mura lang yan at madali lang palitan.

Basta bumaba yung idling after a while ok lang yan, yung sa akin mga 3 minutes sya nag i-idle at around 1500rpm pag cold yung engine to warm it up.

chief, how do you adjust the idling speed for EFI cars? mine reads 1200rpm at start up then drops to 800-900 when the engine warms up, kaya lang when i turn the a/c on it spikes again to 1200rpm then gradually goes down to 1000rpm thou hindi naman ganun ka eratic ang fluctuation nya. does this mean i have a problem with my servo? kasi i'm used to carb type engines where i can adjust the idling and a/c actuator by simply twisting a couple of knobs. i was thinking of simply adjusting the distributor cap position kaya lang hihina naman with the a/c turned off. i wanna tone down the idling sana while the a/c is turned on for fuel consumption. any ideas? thanks.
