June 25th, 2017 05:15 PM #21I have a prospect for a project car - a 1994 Nissan Sentra ECCS. According to the seller, the unit's not running; "redondo lang."
I wonder what that term means. Can anyone help? Thanks!

June 25th, 2017 06:44 PM #22It can be one of many things. Electrical system problem or fuel system problem or both.
If you are buying the car, i suggest to consider something else. Mahirap yan.

June 25th, 2017 07:17 PM #24Thank you for responding
My definition of a project car is "restoration." It has been my dream; and I'm willing to spend.
Thank you for suggesting that I consider something else! I'm not yet very sold on the unit, which I saw on OLX. Would you mind checking it out? Do you think its price should be lower than seller's asking price?

When buying an older car, get the nicest condition unit you can find.
You plop down more cash upfront, but you save down the road as you won't have to spend much on repairs.

June 26th, 2017 09:20 AM #27i have experienced this, firsthand.
it's good advice.
my cheapest used car gave me lotsa headaches. "marami akong natutunan sa auto-mechanics, metalwork and painting doon."
my most expensive used car, was literally "to drive away".
but if TS is the one who finds therapy in car restoration...Last edited by dr. d; June 26th, 2017 at 09:29 AM.

June 26th, 2017 09:48 PM #29think it over, po.
i don't think that car is going somewhere fast.
and if it does, "God must have something better in store for me".
but really, that car is the dime-a-dozen variety. i don't think you can recoup your expenses in restoring her, by selling her afterward.
peruse olx and see just how expensive (or cheap) such car in good condition sells for.
if you decide to restore it, it must be because you want to, and not because you can make a small buck later.

June 26th, 2017 10:05 PM #30Thanks for your advice
Actually, a lot of my prospects may have been bought already... The seller of this Corolla texted me about an hour ago to tell me it's already sold (the link could expire soon).
