January 26th, 2012 06:22 AM #1Hi,
I bought a brand new VIOS 1.3 M/T last December 2011. As a freebie, finull tank ng Toyota ang car ko with Petron unleaded. They say Shell unleaded is better than Toyota but I cannot switch because some says that switching gas brand would affect my engine's performance. How true is this? Does switching from one brand to another will really affect my engine.
Thank you in advance.

NOT ENTIRELY TRUE. What true is the location of gas stations (if magkakatabi sila) should be free from flooding throughout.

today's cars are able to adapt and learn. it is smart enough to adapt to changes in engine wear and tear, loose compression, reduced tire circumference from wear and of course, the rated octane number of the fuel. as long as the gasoline is clean and not contaminated, it should be okay. you probably have heard about flex fuel systems. the question about your myth is like that of the "tikbalang" and "kulam"
