Kaya parang mas ok padin ang Petrol powered maski masmalakas konti sa fuel. Maski anong ingat or maintenance ka sa CRDI technology Diesel may chance pad in masira due to locally bad fuel and fuel stations eh.

I am actually in he brain storming stage of getting a brand new Fortuner, VVTi or D4D once the "Real All-New Fortuner" comes out...and because of the said CRDI extra-sensitivity process in maintenance, I'm more inclined to get the Petrol powered VVTi Fortuner.

Ironically, in some countries with low-quality fuels the Fortuner is still available with the old 5L-E engine, mainly in Africa. Actually, altough the performance of the D4-D engines is good, the 5L-E is still enough to provide a decent performance to the Fortuner retaining an extreme dependability.

CRDI's have very narrow diameters which enables the system to produce finer mists of fuel to the engine making it more fuel efficient. The downside is it's much easier to be obstructed/clogged by "dirty" fuel. So, gassing up at a trusted and reputable station is a must. Moreover, wag pumatol sa mga stations na may "discount" kasi may halo or substandard ang mga fuels nila kaya mababa ang price.Napakamahal mag replace ng damaged CRDI compared to the conventional diesel systems.

True. Yun nga lang if we go out of town we dont have any choice but to gas up with the nearast gas station along the way. unless you plot your route very well and know where the good gas stations are....though yun nga, maski big name gas stations are below standards din minsan sa quality nila.

Good sana if we always have luck on our side....alaga lang talaga ng malupit sa CRDI.

Does it also equate na Petrol EFI is a little safer sa dirty fuel because of how it works compared to Diesel CRDI?

Actually it's not about how the engine works. But since petrol is thinner than Diesel fuel it's easier to adequately filter it to retain impurities which would lead to injectors clogging.
