I drive immediately. I don't linger in the car anymore.

Starting the engine is more often the first thing I do. So I just let it go through its motions while I settle in all my stuff, set the HU and Waze, wear my seatbelts, check all the mirrors, before backing out of the garage.

The 'warm-up' period while I'm doing all the things above takes between 15-60 seconds.

Inaantay ko lang mawala yung blue thermometer icon sa gauge, almost 1 min din yun. Then drive!

Do not idle your car for so long in the parking lot.

i am curious... what are we trying to avoid...? what can possibly happen if one drives out even if the engine isn't warm enough yet, or when the rpm hasn't settled down yet??
engine wear? i'd rather have engine wear because i went somewhere, than have engine wear while going nowhere, waiting for the engine to warm up.
    my thoughts only.
Pag labas po kase ng garage namin required kagad na mag high rev kase palabas palang puro pataas na medyo matarik tas salubungan kaya need to rev high minsan to overtake those crawling tricycles when going up.kaya before I left the house I make sure na normal operating temp na sila.

tsaka isa pa 70s or 80s tech pa kasi yung sasakyan ko. pero i still minimize idling time. start-up at pagbukas ng gate. yung pag-antay lang naman ke misis ang nagpapahaba ng idling time ko (sinisi pa ang asawa).

Cars of decades ago had cooling system capacity between two to three gallons. Your car today has an average of a gallon. When fuel was cheap and people had little idea what air pollution does, engines were running cold and burning unnecessary fuel(cheap back then). Automotive engineers have been studying how to make cars fuel efficient by getting to normal operating temp in a short time and increasing miles per gallon and reducing the carbon dioxide footprint
