    dont remove it. clean and tighten the contacts only.

    pag ayaw pa rin, you could try this (did it myself, it works).....

    Magpa full-tank ka.

    Then, remove the float.

    Short the positive lead of the float to the body. You should see the fuel tank needle drop to empty.

    Reconnect and enjoy!
