get the engine number. the engine number is basically the engine model.

you can get the engine number from the registration papers. or you can find somewhere in the engine block.

[SIZE=1][SIZE=1]Bro the motor number is IS 1222877.
Anyone who sees the engine says its too much for the body.
and it eats up too much fuel.

    Thanks for quick replies guys.
I immediately browse wikipedia and found the type

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Toyota_engines

thus its a swirl intake type.

and it was made somewhere in 1982~1988

    1982 - S - SOHC/DOHC
    • 1982-1988 - 1.8 L (1832 cc) 1S
    • 1982-1987 - 2.0 L (1995 cc) 2S
    • 1985-2005 - 2.0 L (1998 cc) 3S
    • 1987-1998 - 1.8 L (1838 cc) 4S
    • 1990-1995 - 2.2 L (2164 cc) 5S
Its a 1st gen. so it has a 1.8L Displacement.
but im thinking why it consumes much fuel?
eventhough we had it newly tuned up.
    any thoughts?

    thanks!

small displacement engines will consume a lot of fuel if it is installed in a heavy vehicle. there is a mismatch between engine power and vehicle weight (power to weight ratio is low). because of this, the engine needs to rev more to pull (or push) the vehicle

    I see.
    I got the logic.

but why do most people say that this engine is too
big for our anfra when they see it?

if ever i plan to change it to diesel engine, what
    engine model do you recommend?
our anfra is the bigger one, not like anfra PLDT uses.

and where can i find them?
i'm looking also for the option of trading or swapping
    this to a diesel one.

how much do you think this would cost? swap or buy.

    many querries hehe..
    thanks!
