Help: How to know exactly engine valve rating

For recon units usually coming from Japan......
how can we know exactly the engine valve rating....

Example : Nissan Altima- engine label indicates 1.6 valve......but LTO
documents reflects 2.0 valve...

Nissan March - engine label indicates 1.6 valve.....but LTO
documents says 1.3valve but I read in catalogue that it is
only 1.1valve.......

Pano ba talaga malaman?

alamin mo yun engine name ng kotse. like in corolla 4AF, 4AFE, 4AG, 4AGE, etc (mas pamilyar ko dito sa mga ito eh hehehe puro 4 cyclinders).

then search the net about the specs of that engine. you might need some details kung may ibat ibang klase yung same engine code.

pero if you are referring to the number of valves, remove the valve cover then try to count the valves.

Mali yata. You're quoting engine capacity or displacement in LITERS, not VALVES. Just look for a section called "engine capacity" or "engine displacement" in the spec sheet. It can also be quoted in cubic centimeters (cc or cm3). 1000 cc is 1 liter (conversely, 1 cc is 1 mL).

There are different-sized engines for cars depending on where you go. I'm pretty sure you won't see any 1.3L engines for Corollas in the US, usually they carry just 1.6L units.

Valves on the other hand are usually counted in multiples of 4. If you have a four-cylinder engine and have four valves per cylinder, you have a 16-valve engine (e.g. Jazz 1.5 VTEC). If you had two valves per cylinder instead, you'd have an 8-valver (e.g. Jazz 1.3 i-DSI).

What you are referring to is engine displacement. When you say valves it is usually in multiples of 4, 8 valve, 12 valve, 16 valve, 24 valve, and so on and so forth. The number of valves depend on the number of cylinders your engine has. If you want to be accurate and a DIY type of person, remove the top cover and count the number of valves per cylinder as suggested by sir fourtheboys. Mali yung catalogue pag sinabi nilang 1.1 valve (if i were you, i'd stay away from the dealer who has a catalogue like that, which is grossly inaccurate and displays wrong information which might mislead you to buy a overly exaggerated specced vehicle).
