January 9th, 2011 10:38 PM #11agree ako na mas reliable ang "leak test" dito sa kaso ni TS. Mas madali madetermine kung valves or piston rings ang problema. Pinahugot na ni TS ang mga piston so antayin na lang natin ang resulta.

January 17th, 2011 12:03 PM #12Had the pistons removed pero ganun pa din I ended up replacing the valve seals and had the cylinder head machined shop. Ok na sya and it turns out na sa valves ang naging problema

Medyo bad shot lang dahil hinugot ang piston at napalaki ang gastos mo. Kung inuna mo sana ang advise ni jick which I agree, ang sabi ko:
"Kung ako sa kalagayan mo, uunahin ko muna ang top overhaul job. Malaking possibilidad na intake/exhaust valve lang ang problema as per sir jick above."
My 31 years of experience in operation & maintenance of mostly large diesel engines says ito ang suspetsa ko considering that your odometer reading is still low. Anyway do a proper break-in of your newly overhauled engine. Cheers..

glad to hear your machine comes back to life again but through a more expensive route. had they use leakdown tester they can immediately pinpoint the valve problems.
