GEAR OIL: What do you use? 90 or 140 grade

Differential lubricant
-SAE 80/90W GL-5 gear lubricant
-Capacity (approx) 2.6 ltrs

Transfer Case lubricant
-SAE 80/90W GL-5 gear lubricant
-Capacity (approx) 2.4 ltrs

i called isuzu mla., 85W 140 daw gamit nila sa differential ng Xwind at GL 5 sa Transmission. is it true? sabi naman sa Inteco Q.Ave. engine oil daw ang gamit sa transmission (15W-40). comments please.

Engine oil sa transmission?!! Check your manual to be on the safe side. Iba ang gamit na Gear oil sa transmission and iba rin sa Differential.

Some makes can use engine oil but proper gear oil is still more recommended.

Minsan depende din sa supplier ng CASA yung recommendations nila. Just follow what is recommended by the manual.

We have 2 diesel-fed engines here, and usually sa umaga pag bagong andar ang makina hirap ipasok sa 2nd gear. Do you think it is safe to put 140 grade para mas malapot at baka sakaling mas madali na ipasok ang kambyo?

Another question is from the 4WD aspect. Ganun din ang circumstance early morning drives may naririnig akong sound coming from the front solid diffs. Safe ba gamitin ang 140 grade na lapot sa may mga diff lockers?

AFAIK, For Tranny 90 for Axle 140 coz Axle naka sawsaw sa langis kahit full stop pero yong Tranny oil will go up lang pag tumakbo na.(pls correct me if wrong)
