All diesel fuel as I have read from the oil manufacturer's site do contain detergents and dispersants which qualify as fuel system cleaners. So all of them has it in some form or another so pwedeng di ka na gumamit. Ako I use Mitsu Diesel Fuel system cleaner every 5k just to be safe.

    Doc Diesel,

Since you are an expert with regards to Diesel Engines.

Is it really safe to say that Carbon Clean really works? I have been to their shop in E. Rodriguez to have our trucks quoted and they say na once you have your diesel engine carbon cleaned, di na kailangan ng calibration.

    Comments please. Thanks...

There are several factors to consider before using CarbonClean and or doing a calibration.

Though we still assess / inspect the engine prior to dong any work. What we do now is to offer first the CarbonClean before going into calibration. You see, CarbonClean and calibration has one thing in common, that is to take out the smoke.

CarbonClean cleans out the dirt, gum, varnish and carbon build up your engine has built up over the years. Though this system passes through your fuel system, it's not an assurance that your pump and injectors will be squeaky clean. Nothing still beats disassembling the fuel system and overhauling it.

It's main target is the carbon in the engine, second only is to clean the fuel system.

I have tried this on my 2.5 yr. old Mitsu. Adventure and a friend's Isuzu Highlander. It does work but you have to consider how old the vehicle / engine is. The older the engine gets, the more carbon. The more carbon, the more CarbonClean detergent we recommend to use.

    hope this helps.

draining the fuel tank once in a while would help too in reducing dirt and water build up in the systemsince some diesels are really dirty and contaminated with water.

One treatment with literally more detergent to consume. You see, when we treat your engine for CarbonClean, the detergent is placed in a container within the machine which will be connected to your fuel input and output or return. More detergent would mean longer running period. For example:

8 oz. of detergent would be consumed in more or less an hour. The more detergent, the longer engine running period. Take note ha, that we need to run your engine while it consumes the solution.

You might wonder, 8 oz. lang? or Bakit ounce ang measurement? A bottle for diesel detergent which is 16oz. is already strong in a sense that it can knock you down.

    Doc Diesel,
Where or how do you connect the carbon clean machine on the fuel system?
What effect would your detergent have on the additives/detergents in the engine oil?

for Diesel: going in through the fuel filter or injection pump inlet then out to the return line from the injection pump.

for gasoline: going in through the carburetor / fuel pump then out to the return line of the carburetor or the aluminum manifold for fuel injected.
