Too expensive po kasi yung electronic fuel pump, nasa 6k brandnew!! My disadvatages kaya ganun?? Pero, my nakapag try na po sa inyo ng ganun? mr ride is Sentra ECCS.

Buy ka nalang ng oem pump or kung nagtitipid surplus nalang pero you'll never know when a surplus unit will break down. Most of the fuel injected cars have their pumps/filters near the gas tank except for those mechanical type. Could be for safety purposes. Frankly, I would mess around with the fuel system.

Hmm....there's are reasons why the original pump was placed inside the tank... it's also easier to push liquids than to "pull"........

The pump is also cooled by the fuel.

It takes more work to pull out and replace the old pump and your mechanic is not comfortable with the job so he recommends the conversion.

I don't trust the P1.5k elec pumps...I've gone through a couple of them.
You'll be lucky to find one that will serve you for many years...

If I were you, I'd invest in a new or relatively new pump same as your old one.... expensive maybe but for safety and convenience, it's worth it.

Agree ako kay Eric, pumps are cooled by the fuel. Its also better to push than pull. The down side of putting an external pump is the noise it creates and the difference in rating.

If your present pump is working and the fuse gets busted then wiring, grounding or stuck-up ang kailangan tutukan.

you need to use a high-pressure fuel pump coz your ride is EFI ... AFAIK, those 1.5K-fuel pumps are low pressured ... correct me if I'm wrong ...

I said to the electrician that, baka wirings lang at may problema sa fuse box or grounded. But, he test kung may grounds, kiniskis nya, but wala naman ka spark spark, also he checks the fuse box, wala rin naman daw problema. Kaya I ask here baka my side effects or delikado o baka naman bumagal hatak. Marunong at may mga na-convert na naman daw siya like vans, kia, and a civic.
newbie po kasi ako sa mga ganun.

I wouldn't change the design of the car, especially when we're talking about fuel systems. The fuse is blowing for a reason and the mechanic's analysis seems correct. What I disagree on is the workaround he's trying to sell. I'd rather change the fuel pump with the same OEM pump. Less alterations means the car remains stock-safe.

    procedure dyan ganito;

paandarin yung sasakyan at gumamit ng bypass feed wire ( it must be fused with the right rating )

The electric motor in these fuel pumps do wear out eventually. My take on this is that the carbon brush "dust" may have filled up the gaps between the commutator, causing it to short and tick-off the fuse.

Thanks sir for the info, grabe kasi price ng brand new Fuel Pump, 7.5k!?!

Be sure to use the existing wiring of your fuel pump and not to just tap in in the ignition. It is not suppose to be permanently turned on when you switch the ignition.

to make the fuel pump working properly , it must be installed under the car railing ( chassis) and not only that , the tank has to have a lift pump built -in in order to initialize the fuel delivery into the main pump.

the negative effect of installing it above the tank level is great, the guy must consider that .

Sabi sakin sir mechanic na, mha hose lang daw po yung gagalawin to convert it, kasi pag surplus na Fuel Pump, nasa 1.5k surplus, at hindi kas sure kung kelan ito ma broken or magmalfunction, the new Universal pump cost only 800 pesos. . Pero, as you said nga, parang delikado yung pag coconvert?! What is the best way option? my problem is the bdget for new Fuel pump that cost 8k!

There are also safety issues here.
