Depends where you hear the sound.
locate it first.
Check the areas of the fuel pump, power antenna, starter, ac blower, aux fax etc. radio. This accesories can cause sound especially when left turned on and can be heard during ignition.

kung yun ang unang una mo naririnig before the click of the main relay, fuel pump nga

May 1st, 2008 07:30 PM #8the hissing is only heard for around 3 secs when you switch on, then goes away. it's not a loud hiss.
check it again, this time remove the gas cap, have a buddy switch on the car (not start, just on) while you stay near the gas cap waiting for that hissing sound.
tapos report back here for the next step
(fuel pump replacement is a bit difficult since you need to pull down the gas tank, but I've done it DIY. less than 1K labor niyan sa friendly neighborhood talyer)

May 2nd, 2008 08:36 AM #9tol, kung me diperensiya ang fuel pump mo, di aandar ang makina mo, kasi, EFI engines have a high pressure fuel delivery system. di kagaya ng carburettor type engines that depends only of the vaccum created by the egine.
So, if the fuel pump is malfunctioning, there will be no fuel supply to the engine
