Engine stalling and idle problem.

im driving a Nissan cefiro a32 97 model.

idling prob. fluctuating sobra. lalo pag cold start. then namamatayan ako pag mabagal ako or biglang shift to D or pataas na mabagal.

nalinis ko na anf throttle body and napaayos ko na ang air leaks. whats else could be the prob?? please help. TIA

ECU reset, fuel filter/pump/relay. I'm talking not only for Nissan Cefiro specific here.

Try spraying the MAF sensor with CRC contact cleaner. Be very careful with this MAF sensor as this is very delicate. Just spray the wire part, but do not touch it. My Nissan Exalta'02 had the same problem, and I was able to cure this by just cleaning this sensor. You can buy the CRC contact cleaner in Tru-Value or Robinson Handyman.

hindi ako familiar sa behavior ng mga makinang may ecu, kung traditional na engine yan... i'd say check your fuel filter, fuel lines and fuel pump.

i had it checked na by the comp.. busted knock sensor. i replaced it na dn. cleaned the MAF also.. ganun pa dn... im running out of options here.. help bro....

pacheck mo na yung ECU mo..i had the same problem with my proton, pinatingnan ko sa casa sabi ECU ang problema..nung napalitan di na palyado makina at wla na din idling problem..lakas na din humatak..try mo pa-reset o kya pa-change the ECU na..hope this helps.

try also checking the auto gearbox..

pacheck mo na yung ECU mo..i had the same problem with my proton, pinatingnan ko sa casa sabi ECU ang problema..nung napalitan di na palyado makina at wla na din idling problem..lakas na din humatak..try mo pa-reset o kya pa-change the ECU na..hope this helps.

were you able to resolve this issue? having the same problem with my nissan exalta sla.

try the basic tune up process also, spark plugs tension wires, coils etc. i might be wrong but it never hurts to try

thanks for the reply, already change spark plug, fuel pump, ignition coil(inside the distributor) cleaned maf sensor, throtlle body, Idle valve with contact cleaner, still the same rough idle and stalling, no check engine naman. Appreciate all the feedbacks, thank you.

check nyo mga vacuum hoses for leaks and correct routing esp dun sa egr, pag nakaangat egr papalya sa idling. check nyo rin kung walang sira ang intake ducts from maf to throttle body

Most of the responses you received are guesses. You are soliciting help without enough data. No one could come up with a diagnosis only guesses and opinions.


Check you engine intake manifold vacuum.
Check your fuel pressure.
Check your voltage at the alternator BAT terminal with the engine running. This is how you start soliciting for diagnosis. Without actual data everything is just opinion and guesses

mga sir maya katanungan lang ako. meron ako problem sa Lancer GTI 1992 EFI engine 4g15

pansin ko pag idle siya ng lalaro ung ung idle nya. minsan nmn steady lang siya tapos may time na bumagbagsak ung idle nya tapos aangat ulit pero since nka muffler ako hndi swabe ung tunog nya sa muffler parang may misfire na tunog parang may maliit na naputok sa loob ng chamber pero okay nmn ang takbo ko. ska pag naibyahe ko na ng 4hours straight may time na biglang mamatay ung engine nya. tapos need ko mg wait ng 2-3 mins bago siya start ulit.

additional problem is umaamoy ung gas nya sa tambutso. and every start ng engine meron white smoke na nalabas na amoy gas.

hndi ako ng babawas ng oil and coolant. FYI

Nung meron pa akong space wagon 4g93, nangyari sa akin unbalance yung engine, parang sa apat na cylinder, merong isang di gimagana. Found out after several troubleshooting and googling, one injector di na gumana. So nag diy ako, remove the injector. Replaced it with surplus and na clean ko pa other injector. Baka kailangan lang incjector cleaning assuming spark plugs and its cable are ok.
