    Good afternoon sa lahat ng tsikot folks
    May tanong sana ako regarding sa engine oil seals. Vehicle is L200 diesel 4d56 non turbo, 2003 model, 5yrs na this coming march2008, mileage is 46kkms.
    Nung nagpa vulcanize ako nung last weekend, nasilip ko na may konting oil leak sa harap ng oil pan (just above the drain plug). Medyo basa ng konti, pero not to the extent na nagkakaroon ng oil marks sa garahe. Kung hindi pa nga ito sinilip, hindi ko rin malalaman na may oil leak. Isasabay ko sana pagpalit ng oil seal sa palit ng timing belt, fan belts, bearings, etc. Eh ang kaso naka sched yun sa 60kkms pa. Kaso ang sabi ng mekaniko na pinagtanungan ko, palit na dapat dahil baka daw mababad yun timing belt sa oil at maputol at ang sabi pa, nasisira daw ang oil seal kasi madalas ako mag change engine oil.... dito na ko kinabahan, mukhang iba yata diagnose nitong mamang mekaniko. Posible ba na madali masira oil seal kung laging nagpapalit engine oil? BTW, I am using Caltex Delo Gold 15W-40, no additive, change oil, and oil filter every 2,500km.
    Ano kaya sa tingin nyo? Mukhang mapapaaga yata ang palit ko ng timing belt.

    kailangan mo na palitan yan kasi baka matagal na yan at ngayon mo lang nakita e baka mas lumaki pa problema. maaring babad na sa oil 2 belts mo, timing at oil pump. palitan mo pareho. delikado maputol yan, kakatok makina mo kapag naputol oil pump belt mo. regarding dun sa oil seal wear, walang kinalaman yung frequent oil change or the kind of oil used. wear and tear talaga yan. rubber ang oil seals ng L200 and definitely dadating ang time na titigas na yan and mag leak na oil dyan. i am also driving a 1995 L200 and halos every 2 years nag papalit ako oil seals. 4 na oil seal yan. bili ka parts sa BestColt sa banawe. mura at orig dun lahat.

    Maraming salamat sa info. I'll try to source out for the parts by this week para this coming weekend eh puede ko na paayos.
    Let's say na ok pa yung belts, tensioners, etc, ok lang ba na oil seal na muna papalitan o required talaga na sabay na lahat? Mukhang baklas din kasi lahat kahit oil seal lang papalitan, iniisip ko sabay na lahat kung kasya sa budget.
    Pano pala yung oil seal dun sa likod sa may clutch plate, is there a way to determine without dismantling the transmission/clutch to check the oil seal at the rear? So far wala namang nararamdamang problema sa clutch, at wala naman external signs ng tagas.

    Makikitanong na din po, ano pa po bang pinapalitan na parts bukod sa oil seal for Hilander, yung area between sa makina and transmission? Medyo malakas \ kasi yung leak ng oil and dati nagpapalit na ako ng oil seal may tagas padin ng konti sayang nga pagawa ko. Hindi ko nga alam kung baka yung nabili ko is fake or may iba pang dapat palitan. May alam din ba kayo na ok na brand or replacement parts pero quality naman? Salamat!

    crankshaft oil seal? go for OEM! kapag internals ang pinaguusapan

    Tama ka sa sinabi mo na matagal na nga itong leak sa oil seal ko, at ngayon ko lang napansin. Konti lang ang nakikita sa labas pero hindi alam sa loob. Hindi na ko mapakali kaya hindi ko na pinaabot sa Sabado, pinatingnan ko kanina sa casa, pagbukas ng cover, nagkalat ang oil sa loob, nakababad na sa oil ang belt. Yung maliit na belt malapit na daw maputol, dun kasi ang oil seal na tumagas. Pinapalitan ko na lahat, oil seal, timing belt(2), bearings, fan belts, etc. Buti na lang at pinatingnan ko, kung hindi mas malaking kamot sa ulo ito pag naputol.
    Medyo mahal sa casa, pero at least OEM parts yung andun, at may warranty. Next option kasi ni bayaw eh sa rapide, mas mura daw..... kaso baka mag rapid replace engine pag doon dinala.

    Madalas nga ang oil change mo (at 2,500 kms interval?) but I don’t think dahil yun doon… probably medyo sobra ang oil level mo kadalasan which can result to premature wear in seals and gaskets.

    Dati kasi nung naka warranty pa, pag nag change oil ang casa laging 6 liters, at above the max limit sa dipstick na yun, siguro mga 3 change oil din yun na hindi ko napapansin until may nagsabi sa akin na excess yung 6 liters, dapat 5.25liters lang, baka madali oil seals, which ito na nga ang nangyari. Kaya every change oil, 5 liters lang pinapalagay ko, pag kulang, ako na lang mag top. I always see to it that it does not exceed the max limit sa dipstick. Lesson learned ito sa akin, buti hindi pa huli at naagapan.

    IMO crankshaft oil seal. go for OEM para sigurado.

    isa pa pag overfill, mausok kahit bago oil. next time 5 liters muna then kaw na mag top up.

    Thanks XTO siguro orig na lang bilin ko para sure na tatagal. Mga magkano nga pala orig na crankshaft oil seal ngayon for hilander? Salamat ulit!

    oil seals will leak no matter if you replace the oil often. it comes with age talaga.

    nakapag palit na din ako sa wakas ng crank shaft oil seal so far sulit naman pagkakabili ko sa OEM na oil seal, zero leak na ulit ang ride ko sinabay ko na din yung clutch ko malapit na din sya maupod and pati bearing nya. change oil din tranny thanks sa mga advise.

    sir speedyfix, tanong ko lang, May napapansin ako na oil leak very slight..malapit dun sa engine code eh i have a civic SIR, pero hindi naman tumatagas pababa, parang nag momoist lang sa mga small wiring and tubes na nakaconnect sa engine which is i think vtec solenoid, at dun sa corner ng engine where you could see the metal sheet separating the top side of the engine and the low side don't know what it is exactly called. makikita mo cya pagbukas mo sa hood, i also have checked other SIRs ganito rin nakikita ko..magmomoist here's a picture, ano kaya toh?

    sir sabi kasi sa akin ng mechanic na pag binawasan yun spring ng oil seal mas lalo daw tatagal. totoo po ba yun?

    hey bro, you might want to check the Distributor O-ring and the rear Camshaft Seal (Exhaust Cam). since sometimes diyan din nanggagaling ang leak. also, I believe that theres an Oil Pressure sensor sa gilid ng head (doon sa may picture na pinost mo na may sinabing "slight leak".).

    anywayz, those are the places na pwedeng panggalingan ng Oil leak (sa side ng engine na yun ha.. as per what you post on that picture. specially on D, B , and H series Honda engines w/ V-TEC.)

    the engine in the picture is a h22 so not the same as the sir engine. but normally the only things that will leak on the left portion are the distributor o-ring and oil seal, vtec solenoid gasket and strainer, cam seal and/or the valvecover gasket.

    pwede po pwede ba paki lista niyo mga oil seal ng makina namin?? nasa 3 months na may tulo garahe namin. every overnight parking ay nasa 1 spoon ng oil ang tumutulo..

    para lang po magkaroon ako ng idea kung magkano ihahandang pang gastos.. paki indicate na rin ng estimated price sa parts and labor sa pagpapalit..
