Follow up lang po for my post above. Just had the injection pump of my 4d56 (L300) overhauled and calibrated. All gaskets and o-rings of the pump were replaced and the pump was calibrated.
However, naging hard starting na siya, it would take 2 to 3 tries before siya magstart whereas dati naman ay one click lang ay start na agad. Bakit kaya? Check timing, glow system, air ingress, etc. There are so many causes for a hard start problem. The workshop that serviced your IP should correct this problem.
Didn't notice this when i was still in the calibration shop, just though I would inquire first with you before I bring it back to the shop.
My 1993 L300 VV diesel has around 113,000km on its odo and according to the mechanic is due already for a complete overhaul because its temp rises during long climbs and when stuck in traffic
Temp rise alone does not justify an overhaul. Check accuracy of temp gage, check thermostat, water pump, radiator, etc.
and there is this weird "tak-tak-tak" like sound coming from the engine. This could be fuel knock due to a faulty injector nozzle. Ask around for a 2nd/3rd opinion before considering an overhaul.
