I saw the injection pump has this thing, as i really don't know what it was na nakakabit sa side ng injection pump. mayoon syang nkakabit na hose coming from the cooling system which means from the side of the engine to the injection pump. Can you tell me sir Dieseldude kung para saan ito. Does it has to do with putting the fuel temperature higher so it will burn effeciently and have alesser emission of smoke?

Thanks in advance.
Hindi ako familiar sa L400 Spacegear, pero gets ko ang tinatanong mo.

This is a cold idle device, a thermal capsule which expands when water heats it. When the engine is cold, timing is advanced and idle rpm is higher than normal. As coolant temp increases, this capsule moves a lever either to retard timing a bit, or lower the idle speed, or do both functions.
