I have a Kia Besta model 98 with a 2.2 Liter diesel engine. I think one of the cylinders is bad already and which might necessitate an overhaul. Can you please let me know of any reputable engine overhauling center in the Las Pinas area. Many Thanks

I had my injector pumps calibrated..that helped. I also had the engine compression tested and the results are #1-15, #2-16, #3-17 and #4-17. I was told this is really below par as diesel engines need to be 20 to 22. Any comments? Does this mean my engine has lost compression already?
Thanks, yes. I checked my last oil change and I'm still using 15w-40. What does it mean if if I use 15w-50? What brand do you recommend?
Thanks for all the comments ... will do an oil change this weekend. Hope it works!!! :-)
Follow manufacturer's oil specs sir.....try using monogrades for looser engines. if it still eats up the oil then start saving money.
Have done the oil change this morning. Used Vic filters and Motul 15w-50 technosynthese oil. The rattle and vibration are greatly diminished which now makes me believe the previous oil used was bad/cheap. The Motul cost me about P579/Liter at true value. The filters (primary and secondary) put me back another P600 while labor for the oil change was at P360. I asked the mechanic to please adjust the valve tappet clearance but he said my engine (2.2L diesel Kia Magma) was not adjustable at their end. I will have to get the whole cylinder head assembly removed and brought to a machine shop. It was, as he explained, self adjusting. I saw in different threads here in our forum the use of 2T oil and timing. I put in 200 ml 2t oil in the tank earlier and thinking of getting the engines timing checked in the next few days. There is still just a faint trace of smoke but let us see in the coming days. As Miked recommended, start saving money so I would probably do that as well ... :-)
