April 28th, 2005 02:41 PM #11i have the same problem every morning.
car dies out after 5mins of starting.
i have to step on the gas for about a min (not to hard but just enough to rev it to about 1500rpm).
had 2 possible solutions
1) told my carb guy about the problem and after cleaning he mentioned a pinhole thing in my carb (forgot what its called) nagbabara daw yun kaya hirap. well enough after cleaning ok na yung start pero bumabalik ulit yung sakit (so i guess its off for another cleaning job)
2) my mechanic says that the carb has a "missing hose" sort like a pump that should feed gas at a steady pace. still havent found anybody knowledable enough about the carb to be able to fix it.

You can determine the heat range of the plugs judging by the number indicated in its model.
Higher number means its a colder plug.
Example:
NGK Sparkplug: BP5ES is hotter than a BP6ES
Denso Sparkplug: W20EXRU is colder than W16EXRU.

thanks gian.
usually, colder plugs are used by high performance cars...such as cars with turbos...etc....
normal na dito sa pinas ang 6...some use 5 sa mga stock engines.
