    This is what happened...

    I bought this car and it there was no problem with it. Suddenly, I felt that the RPM is bouncing from 800 to 100, and the engine almost died. I tried to find a mechanic.. with my RPM falling down to 100. Especially when I stepped on the breaks. Luckily,I was able to reach the HONDA CASA at quezon avenue.

    They told me that their diagnosis regarding this matter was to change the Computer box.Its worth 40T,so I told them "maybe some other time because of lack of budget". So, for the meantime they cleaned the throttle body and issued me a new gasket for it [THROTTLE BODY] and a new air filter.They also changed the sparkplugs.

    So the next day I picked up the car and its fine!So before I left..one of their agents adviced me to change the computer box very soon.What we did is just for the meantime,he said.

    What I did is,I went to Banaue..and look for a Computer Box specialist.Luckily I found one.He told me that the computer box is fine and doesnt need to be replaced.But he told me that the source of the problem (RPM Falling to 100) is the AIR VALVE.So he troubleshooted my engine and had done it successfully.

    Before I left Banaue the Mechanic told me that I also needed to change my cylinder head gasket.Bcuz if not the engine will experience excessive overheating in no time everytime I use the car.


    The next day..I went to see my friend mechanic who lives near our place.I asked him to change the cylinder head gasket together with the timing belt.

    So he adviced me that if ever we will change your cylinder head gasket it is best that we change also the following...

    1.CYLINDER HEAD GASKET
    2.TIMING BELT
    3.TENSIONER
    4.CRANK SHAFT OIL SEAL
    5.CAM SHAFT OIL SEAL
    6.VALVE COVER GASKET
    7.LOWER RAD HOSE [RADIATOR]
    8.SPARK PLUG SEAL
    9.VALVE SEAL
    10. 'O' RING
    =+ ADDITIONAL PARTS +=
    11.CAM HOLDER
    12.PCV VALVE
    13.IDLE PULLEY BEARING
    14.INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET
    15.WASHER HEAD COVER
    16.WAHSER HEAD COVER [DIFFERENT SIZE]
    17.TUBE A PCV

    *My friend mechanic recommended me to change those stuff because when he opened the engine...all that are listed are tearing and will not last long if I didnt change them.

    FROM CASA: 1.GASKET THROTTLE BODY, 2. AIR FILTER, 3.SPARKPLUGS

    FROM BANAUE:1. AIR VALVE

    So when my mechanic completed and finished the project he asked me to start the engine.

    So heres the problem...

    Everytime I start the engine (especially when cold),the engine is always shaking and its also visible in the RPM gauge.The hand from the RPM gauge is also jiggling from 500 to 1000 RPM. Especially when you're riding it..you really feel the idle moving up and down...feels like the engine is dying even if its not.It doesnt stop even with the aircons ON.I love the car but it annoys me everytime Im using it.

    Help me please,I already spent too much money with this problem and no one can do the trick.

    So far my expenses are already gathered worth 30T more or less.

    HELP me please.

    if i where you.. have it diagnosed sa honda..you'll spend less than 1k for diagnostics then have it repaired somewhere else.. or much better kuha ka rin opinion ng iba see if it matches... ganyan talaga pag 2nd hand walang tigil ang pag palit ng parts due to wear and tear.. i have the same car and model when i bought it last year dami ko ring gastos...

    thanks for the advice master zerg..anyways i will try to bring the car tomorrow or maybe tuesday.

    Any related problem/experiences regarding this matter??Any second options??Advices please.

    imo bring it back to your mechanic friend. if he was competent enough to do all the work on the car he should be competent enough to troubleshoot the problems now.

    Kasi Sir,nung pagkatapos na pagkatapos nya magawa yung auto at naikabit na lahat ng parts (refer to my 1st post about parts) ehh... bigla na lang up and down ang idling.Malamig pa nga makina nun e..... eh pag HONDA po kasi pag malamig makina sa 1st start na malamig ang engine..nagpapainit ng magisa ang engine w/ high idling.So ayun rinig na rinig mo ang makina parang naglalaro pati yung RPM meter stick sa dahsboard naglalaro din up and down.

    Kinabukasan po bumalik sya and he did some troubleshooting.What he did was ;nag advance sya ng isang ipin sa timing..tapos pinainit namin yung engine at WHALLA! ok na sya.Pero what im worried about was sometimes in the middle of your mobiling you will feel the idling going up and down..Meaning di pa sya perfect.

    Isa pang nakakainis dyan pag hindi po sya pinainit at ibinyahe mo agad yung sasakyan talagang ramdam mo yung idling UP and DOWN sya. "In short kailangan muna painitin ang engine para medyo tumino ang takbo".Eh hindi naman po normal yun di ba.

    Medyo madami na ko pinalitan at hindi po ako bumibili nang replacement.. Tapos Very disappointing pa yung result ng pagpapaayus ko Y_Y.

    Any shops you can recommend na may experienced sa ganitong problem paki PM na lang po..really need badly.SALAMAT!

    best place para sa situtation mo is to have it diagnosed with honda na talaga then have it fixed outside.mas kapa na kasi ng honda lahat yan opinion ko lang po... or try to read the service manual ng ESI.. it really helps kasio nandon ung troubleshooting na rin ng mga different symptoms (download it from HCP)

    sir, bka mali ang kbit ng mkaniko sa timing belt wla s timing, tumalon ka lng ng isang ngipin mlking bgay na sa takbo ng engine,pwde rin my ncrang sensor ung mekaniko like tps. map sensor or temp sensor o kaya wla sa tma ung mga vcum hose ng pgblik nya,pwde rin wla s timing btween cam n distributor. check din wring harness ung terminal bka mali or hindi tama ang pagkkbit, check m din ung bckground ng mkaniko bka sya ang mysala lol.. joke! assume k lng na b4 nya gnwa auto mo e maayos ang andar at ovrheatng lng ang prblem.

    itry mo daw gawin ito baka sakaling pwede pa,kasi dapat mas nauna ito ginawa bago ang lahat ng repair,pero gaya ng sinabi ko baka sakaling pwede pa.

    idisconnect mo yung positive at negative battery cable at iconnect mo itong dalawang cable,yung cable mismo (positive and negative) at hindi nakaconnect sa battery.kahit hawakan mo lang at idugtong silang dalawa ng 30 seconds at least.at pagkatapos ay iconnect mo na sila sa battery at start mo na ang engine.dont worry it wont hurt anything.

    ang tawag dito ay adaptive relearn.

    mangyari kasi,ang computer ay nagstore ng excessive voltage na hindi makayanan ng capasitor,kaya pamamagitan ng pagkonek ng dalawang cable ay nililinis mo yung voltage memory ng computer at nererelearn mo rin yung adaptive memory nya. wag maniwala sa sinasabi nilang palitan na kaagad ang computer box,na kung tutuusin ay di naman kailangan.

    sana di pa huli ang lahat at matulungan ka nito.

    Nanghihinayang nga ako mga sir's..kasi talagang puro orig pa ang mga pyesa na kinakabit ko dito tska binalik ko sya sa stock..May plano na din ako iparepaint w/ the same color..kinumpleto ko din ang Mud guards,naglagay ako ng center console na pang hatchback tska Cup Holder.Kaso kung ganito naman na erratic idling na walang makapagayus eh anu pang dahilan para pagandahin sya..hindi po ba?

    Ang last resort ko Honda Casa kung walang makakagawa..At pag hindi pa napatino eh ibebenta ko nanaman ito w/c is kabibili ko lang din nung MAYO.

    Ayoko sana ibenta kaso hindi kampante ang loob ko at laging nasa isip ko yung idling na palagi mo nararamdaman ang diperensya.Bago pa nga yung Aux fan motor w/c is 4t ko nabili.Sana nama maayus sya.

    * joey - oo nga bossing nung pinaayus ko to ang problema lang is overheat na ang dapat lang palitan eh cylinder head gasket..dahil hindi na daw nagcirculate ang tubig sa makina para palamigin to at sira na din ang cylinder head gasket kaya tumatagas ang tubig paunti unti sa sira na gasket.

    Pero iniisip ko pa din sir kasi yung mekaniko ko matagal ko na kakilala un..Toyota GLi pa lang auto ko sya na mekaniko ko bale 5yrs ko na syang mekaniko.Magaling at hindi sya mahal maningil.Hindi ko po alam baka nagkamali din sya sa pagkakabit.

    * dennis powell - ginawa ko na sir pero ganun pa din eh..salamat po sa mga ibang nagbibigay ng payo.baka sa july 18 dadalhin ko na to sa Casa.

    kumbaga last resort.pagwala pa din development...benta den mag Feroza na lang siguro ako.
