For most routine maintenance, I do have some technicians and mechanics. Just remember if you are having it done outside, don't look for one miracle shop to do it all for you.
I have an electrician, a paint&body guy, an interior guy, a mechanic, etc. They are all different and I go to them depending on the problem that needs to be addressed.
For maintenance, my usual mechanic can typically do all the service items and the friendly auto supply is stocked well enough with parts.

April 23rd, 2011 11:02 AM #4Is your car still under warranty? If yes, stick to casa service just to preserve your warranty. If out of warranty get it done outside

what car is that? If it's still under warranty you can try to stick with the dealer for at least a year or two. Unless you drive an extremely complicated car for which the warranty can potentially save you from big expense.
Only thing I got from my warranty were two lousy shock absorbers (la pa 1k ea), lugi ako when I computed all the maintenance work they did on my van then.

Once lang ako nag-brand new. 1998 Kia Besta dati. After nun, ayoko na.
To give you an idea on the price of parts, heto yung parang lumalabas na nagastos ko para sa 2007 Jazz last month (sorry kung hindi exacto yung price, nasa loob pa ng kotse yung resibo). Saka replacement parts lang gamit ko.
Motor oil -Php 1,500
oil filter-Php 200
spark plugs- Php 95-150/ea x 4
Air filter-Php 200 or 300
Fuel Filter -Php 180
AC micro filter -Php [tinanggal ko na ito, i just use the a/c in recirculation mode. Wala naman ganito yung Land Cruiser, ano yung Jazz, sinuswerte? hehehe] I did keep the old filter in the trunk for reference.
Brake cleaner -Php [don't need this either pero Php300/can ata iyan]
Engine treatment -Php [another BS product pero moneymaker ng casa, even the manual advises against adding this crap]
P.O.L ?????????

June 12th, 2011 07:19 AM #10stay with casa basta may warranty ka. that's what you're paying for with a new car.
Choice I would have made as well.
