January 26th, 2009 02:02 PM #1i hav a 97 model mitsu gsr... ok yung makina nung auto as in walng prob sa andar...bukod lang sa medyo malaks sa gas and parang nabibitinan ako sa hatak. nacompare ko kasi yung 99 honda vti ng bro ko,yung kanya mabilis pumapalo sa 3k/4k yung rpm nya compare sakin. cguro matter of 1/2 sec lang diff... here some of my questions mga broSana mabigyan nyo ako mga sagot pls.) Thank u very much
7. Or maybe nasa fuel filter?

to answer:
1. afaik, 8 kpl is the average FC ng GSR on city driving.
2. yup, the timing is controlled by the ECU.
3. hmmm, that i don't know. hindi ko inaamoy ang usok ng oto ko eh.
4. may edge of power ang VTi kesa sa GSR.
5. nope, hindi dun. ano gamit mong spark plugs?
6. hindi din dun.
7. fuel filter should be replaced at least once a year.

^ Don't be so surprised with the 97 Lancer GSR. Had the same car before and generally, your observations about the anemic engine and fuel consumption are spot on.
Dunno about the aftermarket parts you're using, but you could probably try switching back to OEM parts. When was the last time you had it serviced? The service advisor should be able to tell you if your spark plugs, fuel filter, etc. need replacement.

Well have it tuned at least at any Mitsu casa to find out the real cause. I have a cousin who has one. have the same FC problem for years and decided to convert it LPG.

Kung aftermarket yung High Tension wires, you could try replacing them with original Mitsu parts. Some "performance" high tension wires have a propensity to crack, causing misfire. Depends on the brand, though... but the usual Chinese brands and even some cheap American ones are total crap.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Choice I would have made as well.
