Usually fake filters have bad looking light duty and bad quality/performance bypass valves which would have a high chance of popping out any time when it reaches a certain pressure it could not withstand, also most of them you can no longer see the filter media pleating due to the inner steel cage they used has covered most of the the holes for the oil to go through para hindi mo makita yung pleating or paper color ng so called Genuine filters, dun sa dalawang point palang I mentioned you'll know that it is fake.

    Thank you sa kaibigan ko.
You missed one important thing, yung sukat ng o-ring gasket should also be measure example "50"mm×"70"mm.

Are they using the same media? I mean, is one filter more restrictive than the other or vice versa?

If you look at the specs, those Cummins power units are low-rev, industrial-grade engines which are typically producing 60HP to as low as 20HP.

Using the oil filter meant for the Cummins in a high-revving or even a turbo-charged engine might not be a good idea.

Maintaining the correct oil pressure in the engine is a balance between having the correct oil viscosity, oil pump pressure, engine tolerances, and the filter media, among a few other factors (ie. temperature, RPM, etc.) That said, too little pressure from an overly-constricted filter media can starve a high-revving engine of oil. But the most likelihood that will happen is that, everytime you rev up, the oil might just go through the bypass valve, unfiltered.

Of course, these are all conjecture but then again, it's better to use parts that are specifically designed for your engine rather than use one that you might perceive to be better without knowing all the details.

These are the videos of Mpa(Megapascal) pressure test before pumutok ang oil filter ng C-110 sa Dai-wa, JS Asakashi & VIC brands from Youtube. It shows VIC medyo malapit sa house brand Dai-wa brand na pumutok at 1.7 Mpa or 246 Psi while VIC brand filter pumutok at 2.1 Mpa or 304 Psi and then last JS Asakashi brand pumutok at 2.4 Mpa or 348 Psi. Masmaganda pa JS Askashi kaysa VIC brand.

Ito mismo video tinesting nila mismo sa USA ang filtration ng Fram, WIX, K&N and even a generic brand from China pero it showed that even the generic house brand from China was able to filter more than a K&N filter. Pinakita sa video gumamit siya ng dirt particle contaminants to test the filters and K&N shown to perform the poorest.

I think what OJ is saying is how do we know these aftermarket filters have the same flow rates and bypass valve opening pressures as oem? These are equally important as filtration efficiency.
