Marami parin hooked sa K&N and nagtetestify is dahil the same way maraming layman consumers na naniniwala sa Frontrow products or OBD racing chips. First of all K&N is stating that it provides more air flow to the engine pero did the say how or what they did in order for it to become that way? Or puro marketing ploy lang?

In order for more air flow to pass through your engine the air filter must be less restrictive meaning less fibers or blocking air pathways inside the filter media.

1st K&N promotes and promises their filters provide more air flow - correct statement naman since more air passes through without the restrictions from too many fibers in the media.
2nd Did K&N ever tested their filter for filtration efficiencies or dirt carrying capacity before the air filter can no longer filter anymore versus other O.E. stock type filter brands?
3rd people instead of believing in a company's marketing ploy should try to research 1st before testifying, have those who testified about K&N actually opened up their engine and see the engine parts if how worn out it is? Like what the Americans, Europeans and Japanese do? Or do they just rely on hearsay and rumours?

I'm not singling out K&N ahhh just so you know, those other filter brands like Simota, BMG, Hurricane, Fabrix and etc... who say that they are washable or racing filters maybe riding on the hype what K&N developed the marketing ploy of being the best in all aspects.

Always remember that there is an American belief/saying, "If something seems too good to be true, it probably is."-actual saying = layman's term "If something seems too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true."

As US consumer laws are stricter compared to ours, I believe they won't make that claim unless somehow they now that the engines can tolerate the particles that do pass from their filters. A way of saying the pros outweighs the cons. The savings and unnecessary waste are better for me in the end.
Unless you are going to use the car for a long term then you won't see the immediate effects and damages of what dusts and other contaminants through the years of using the brands mentioned. A regular diesel owner using K&N, BMG, Hurricane, Fabrix & etc... wouldn't noticed on why his/her car's fuel economy is getting a lot worse compared to to their counterpart owners because pa onti onti siya nangyayari hindi siya instant or mabilis na drop, since every time nagchichip or napudpod ang metal engine parts hindi naman isang buong part ang nachichip away.

Engines have tolerance against those particles but in the long run it will shorter the lifespan of the engine parts than the normal wear & tear lifespan.

increased airflow and increased filtering action, can't seem to occur in the same statement...

Disposable filters has low efficiency. Semi-clogged filters offers much better efficiency, you just have to be wary of the added air resistance.-read it somewhere in CumminsFiltration site.
Yes I agree with you about less toxic emissions from diesel engines and less greenhouse affecting gases from gasoline engines needed to be replaced sooner so we could have cleaner air and we could probably slow down global warming and the polar ice from melting and increasing water levels.

But the problem that would arise from electric vehicles are still somewhat similar with those with gasoline and diesel engines, sure electric vehicles have no more exhaust gases as diesel and gasoline, but the environmental costs of mining/extracting lithium is the similar with the way gold, silver and other precious metals are being mined from the mountains, forests & etc... also the processing of raw lithium metal from the environment.

The only way to save our environment is thru the development and implementation of mass public transportation like trams, trains & bullet trains that are electric and are powered from the electric cable grid that is getting their energy from better renewable(Not completely as they have to mine metals and etc... to produce the products/machines) sources like Solar Panels, Wind Turbine, Electric Generating Damns, Water Wave Energy/Power & etc...

Then private cars will only be used for leisure and efficient mass transportation will be used to commute daily to work the people.

USDM truckers are dominated by Baldwin, Cummins Fleetguard, Cat, Donaldson, Parker might as well compare them. Wix, Fram, Purolator, etc were originally intended for small cars.
Good news about the test for WIX filters filtration.

Finally somebody tested WIX Filters in the USA and we now have some facts regarding the filtration efficiency of WIX Standard Filters(Cellulose and Fiberglass Synthetic media) and WIX XP Filters(Fully synthetic media).

This is the link fellow tsikoteers. According to the tests WIX Standard filters has filtration efficiency of oil laboratory test performance per ISO 454812 18 grams dirt (WIX 51515), 99% efficient at 23 microns (Based on WIX 51515, WIX 51356, WIX 57060) & WIX XP oil filter laboratory test performance per ISO 454812 32 grams dirt (51515XP), 99% efficient at 35 microns (Based on 51515XP 51356XP, 57060XP)

The differences of WIX Standard and WIX XP is that WIX XP has a longer life and better dirt accumulating capacity of the filter media.

One more very important thing, AMSOIL USA the best engine oil in the US market also carries and sells the WIX brand of filters side by side with their lubricants.

According to the Philippines exclusive distributor of AMSOIL that the 1st filter brand that they recommend is WIX filters to be paired with their AMSOIL as AMSOIL had instructed them that the best pair for AMSOIL is WIX filters. Even other distributors/importers of AMSOIL in countries like Thailand and etc... also recommend AMSOIL to be paired WIX Filters.

Man that bosch oil filter is good. Their premium brake pads aren't as premium as the Hyundai original brake pads.
